Maevyn Corvid.

Maevyn Corvid is a pseudonym for a Northern California based, multi-medium artist. The name is inspired by Irish culture; as well as the artist’s fascination with the Corvidae family of birds (ravens, crows, and magpies.)

Always exploring new mediums for creative expression. Current focus areas are epoxy/resin work (particularly involving preservation of organic materials), acrylic fluid art,, pyrography, taxidermy. and creation of “creepy dolls.”

When not doing strange and unusual things with dead shit and scary dolls at her 240 ft “Spooky Shed”/home…Maevyn can be found hanging out with her dogs, and cat pretending it’s Halloween everyday. Or enjoying a chilly night, good beer and music with friends.

The Story.

Although always having a passion for the arts, particularly the dark and uncomfortable to look at, up until June of 2021 it was always a side lined hobby and small personal collection. I was finishing my last prerequisites and applying for nursing programs, while working 40+ hours a week in the Medical field; traveling for work, and training many people in reproductive health care, phlebotomy, etc.

Until the universe stopped me in my tracks with a massive seizure and following hospitalization, that revealed a degenerative, genetic, neurological condition.

Now coping with a completely different life trajectory than once imagined, relying on a wheelchair/other mobility aids some days, and struggling with the loss of independence and sense of self; art has been a massive distraction and healing form of self expression when things have seemed bleak

The Future.

Moving forward, as I continue to work on rebuilding and healing, I would love to be able to support myself with my work. Ideally both with an online presence, as well as in person event vending. I am applying to several upcoming events this next year so stay tuned for updates on where you can find me! Please see my contact page for more information on how to get in touch if you have any questions or would like to reach out. Thanks so much!
