Beasts of a Feather.
“Beasts of a feather; flock together...”
This set of two large multimedia pieces of art were the start of Putris Immoderata’s collection. Mostly created from of an array of ethically sourced bones, which are then hand painted for consistency. The canvases are sealed completely with epoxy once completed to protect them for longer than any of our lifetimes. Although the majority of the anatomy is created from misc. bones, the horns and wings featured in them come from the one creature. Regardless of physical distance between them they will forever be searching for their lost half. One beast features an extended arm offering a symbol of it’s love; ( a sunflower) over the streams of broken glass. As it desperately tries to offer it’s self to the other, even while fighting out of the dark, and barely able to continuing moving towards the light. The other and larger, beast is moving away from the light; into the darkness while leaving a trail of broken glass behind in it’s wake. Neither beast may know it; but the second beast does not possess the extremities that would make it capable of accepting the gift from the first beast.
